skiffytown League of Heroes

A RLSH friend of mine named Superhero (That's his name) is tenatatively scheduled to appear at a Dunedin Blue jays (Minor league version of the Toronto team) Game on the 17th for "Superheroes night" & hand out some Batman Tickets. He will probably get to drive his super-mobile around the field and some other things.

He wanted to put a shout out to any other Florida Heroes that wanted in so I brought the announcement over here for him.

That's really sweet of him! If I can help I'd like to. I'm still learning my way around Florida though. I'll pass this on to Fortuna and Blazar as well.

crossfire. . .i just did one up here. . .and the more heroes we had the better it was. . .the comicbook shop even came out to hand out comic books. ..it would be great for anyone to show up. . .something like this would be great for heroes allience to help out at. . .just a thought. . .

Crossfire, thanks for bringing that to our attention. Is there anyway that you can have
Superhero send me a messgae thru my MySpace account and also to the FLASH MySpace
account with all the information about this event ( date, location, specific duties and
responsibilities involved, ect. ) so that perhaps we can devise a strategy. I do nto know if
I can attend this - it depends on the date, location, ect. but there are several members of
FLASH scattered about the state of Florida and maybe even if one of two can show up and
assist this would show that we want get involved in actively helping the cuase. You might also
want to let Superhero know to contact the Heores Alliance ( I have them as a friend on my
MySpace ) about this. While the Heroes Alliance is about more mainstream superheroes they
are still an excellent source of information, help, and they have a very cordial relationship
with the League. They have also been around longer than us and since they are involved in
dressing up as well known superheroes and villians ( Superman, Nightwing, Riddler, ect )
this should work to Superheroes advantage.

I think Superhero is looking for those with unique identities rather than mainstreamed ones. Not that the leauge isn't cool or anything. I have nothing but respect for those guys.

He has also asked for a head count as soon as is possible so he knows what to expect and can pass that on to the people he is working with.

BTW - Dragonheart - This is the guy I told you about a while back who was interested in working with FLASH to help collect bottled water and other supplies for the homeless. This would be a great opportunity to get to know him and Master Legend and work out details on how you could help the cause.

It also looks as if a handful of RLSH's will be in attendance with him...I wish I could make the trip now...(Sigh)

Update: I just sent Superhero a message on his MySpace page. I tried to add him as a friend but
it requires that Iknow his last name so I could not do that. I also saw his pics and he definitely
has the superhero look ( built like a brick but with a smile of gold ) and best of all....get ready....
he has an AWESOME collection of Godzilla, Gamera the Space Turtle, and a host of other
Japanese classic monster figs. This guy is friggin cool!!! His pics also show alot of charity work
and good will. We definitely need to make some form of alliance or connection with him as he
seems to be a real good guy with noble intentions.

On Thursday July 17th at 7pm the Dunedin Blue Jays will be hosting their Salute to Superheroes Night at Knology Park. With the release of the Batman Movie “ The Dark Night” July 18th the timing couldn’t be more perfect. We will have 5 pairs of tickets to give away throughout the night!! There will be some real life superheroes out showing their support as well as some of your favorite local mascots dawning their superhero outfits. We are encouraging everyone to wear their superhero or villain costumes or wear anything supporting their favorite superhero or villain and you get $3 tickets! You can wear a hat, a shirt, pants, or shoes. You can wear anything that has a superhero or villain logo on it. We also would like to see some original costumes, so dig in the closet and be creative!! We will be having costume contests such as “ Most Original”, “Best Villain”, and “ Best Good Guy”. Winners of these contests will receive a pair of tickets to see the Batman Movie courtesy of Muvico 10 Theatres in Palm Harbor. There will also be themed promotions and other fun stuff throughout the game for you to participate in.

July 17th is also THIRSTY THURSDAY, which means $1 beers all night long! If you want to go see the new Dark Night movie come on out to Knology Park and see if you can score some free tickets!!! Don’t forget to dress up or wear something supporting your favorite superhero or villain!!!

If any FLASH members are capable of attending then please let me know. I will try to see what I can
come up with myself but it's admittedly going to be tough. Even if it is just one or two of us let's
give it a shot. It will be good press for FLASH, the League, and we will be helping a good cause.

For those of you inquiring, Wave Warrior, Article, and KnightVigil all put up posts on the
Sci-fi forum about how it went. Also, there are pics on the FLASH Myspace site as well from
the gathering. Feel free to check them out when you get a chance. Also, as per the post I made
on the Sci-fi forum, FLASH has a new patch courtesy of Wild Grizzly ( awesome job my
brother. ) It is on my sig on my posts at the Sc-fi forum and also on the FLASH MySpace
page.
