My meeting with Monkey Woman

Postby Kyberstarr on Sun Nov 02, 2008 8:37 am

Tonight I had the honor of meeting Monkey Woman in Hollywood. I must say, she is the nicest, sweetest person you could ever hope to meet in this life. An inspiration to me for years, she's just terrific! Absolutely a bright, shining soul! If any of you have the chance to meet her, do it!

That's awsome. Was she at a con or something?

Have you met any of the other Who Wants to be a Superhero people? Feedback and the Defuser are both very friendly guys. Fat Mamma and Hygena are both very sweet and Major Victory is just as funny in person as he was on TV.

I have had the honor of meeting the Defuser, Fat Momma and Ms. Limelight before at Emerald City Comic Con (Seattle, before I moved to Los Angeles). Monkey Woman however I met by attending a show at a local theater where she was performing. Her improv group, the Omelettes, are really, really fun!

The superheroes I've met are all really nice. I really clicked with Defuser, in part because we're both gamers (i.e. tabletop games like D&D). And they all remembered me when we bumped into each other at San Diego a few months later.

I really want to meet Major Victory though. Well, I'd love to meet them all, but Monkey Woman and the Major have always been my faves (from Season 1). With me, it's about inspiration. Mary's refusal to give up during the dog challenge and Chris' sense of humor are the sorts of things I needed when the show aired.

I totally agree with you. Monkey woman vs the dogs was an amazing display of endurance and courage.

The Defuser's a big D&D geek. He's got lots of fun stories. And at Gen Con 08, he ran the Tower of Gygax. Here's a short video I shot of him DMing.
