Star Trek... Your thoughts

Postby PhxEris on Fri May 15, 2009 2:44 am

Hey Y'all just got back from the Star Trek movie!!! Dont worry no spoilers here!! The movie was awesome! There were some character twists I wasnt expecting but they were good in terms of their overall effect! Karl Urban got Deforrest Kelley's "Bones" character DEAD ON!!! Zachary Quinto was amazing as Spock!! Not so crazy with the "Kirk" character.

Let me know what y'all thought!
But remember no spoilers unless people are prewarned!

Star Trek at its worst is better than anything else at its best. Yes, even Citizen Kane! That Black & White Boredom-fest! Why it is held in such High esteem is beyond me.

This new Trek is highly enjoyable, Almost as good as Wrath of Khan. And that is saying a lot.

I am very happy. I can live in this new future as easily as I lived in the "Old Future" and I for one think with the right technology and scientists, we will be able to travel from one timeline to the other with ease.

With the unavoidable oncoming torrent of novels and tech manuals that will try to take our money, I'm sure I will buy every single thing, thus helping the economy.

Star Trek will save the USA! Who will take the credit?

I enjoyed it

I like Star Trek but I am not a Trekkie. I have to say however that this movie kicked serious #ss.
I don't mind the reboot because the way they handled it was pretty awesome and I very much
enjoyed the way they represented the Vulcans, especially young Spock and his conflicted emotional
state. At the end when the old Spock told the young Spock to not be afraid to feel and go with his
gut instinct instead of cold logic sometimes I smiled. It was like putting the icing on what was a
very delicious cake. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
